Russian troops are using the occupied city of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia Oblast as a logistics hub for occupied south Ukraine, the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, wrote on Telegram on Oct. 18.
"Russia has delivered an S-300 air defense system from Dzhankoy to Melitopol,” he said.
“White trucks loaded with Iranian suicide drones drive through the city all the time, escorted by military convoys.”
According to him, these "high-precision" weapons are used for shelling residential houses in Zaporizhzhia and other Ukrainian cities.
Fedorov also said that Russian repression against local residents had in-tensified in the past two weeks, with more reports of kidnappings, abduc-tions, and forced conscription.
