The Ukrainian Armed Forces have improved their tactical position in Donetsk Oblast, taking strategically important positions, Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyi, spokesman for the joint press center of the Tauride Defense Forces, announced on national television on April 3.
According to him, the Russian invasion forces continue to attack on the Avdiyivka and Maryinka axes, trying to concentrate their forces, but to no avail.
Moreover, the Russian military is rotating their troops in the area of Avdiyivka.
"As of today, we know about the withdrawal of the 200th Motorized Rifle Brigade from there," noted Dmytrashkivskyi.
“They were withdrawn so that they could recuperate. However, there is information that Wagner units have entered the area. But so far there is no confirmation of this. In general, the enemy is very afraid of our counteroffensive and realizes that their Donetsk axis is exhausted. They are gradually losing their combat capability.”
The General Staff reported in its morning update that the Russian military is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive operations on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka axes. Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Maryinka remain at the epicenter of the fighting.
