More than 24,000 Ukrainians diagnosed with COVID-19 in a single day

Over the past day, 24,321 Ukrainians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a total of 141 deaths were recorded, and 5,514 patients recovered from the disease, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health for Jan. 26.

 The COVID-19 infection rate increased dramatically compared to the previous day, when 19,118 COVID-19 cases were recorded.

Over the entire duration of the pandemic in Ukraine a total of 3,913,809 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19, of which 3,596,715 have recovered, and 99,584 have died.

No data is available for the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the non-government-controlled parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and Sevastopol.

An adaptive quarantine is in effect in the country until the end of March 2022, dividing Ukraine into colored zones that represent the coronavirus’ impact on the region.

Since Jan. 24, Ivano-Frankivsk region has been in the red zone, while all other regions are currently in the yellow or orange zones.

Over 29 million coronavirus vaccination doses have been administered, with nearly 14 million people having received two doses and more than 200,000 people having had a booster dose.
