Due to the low quality of battlefield medical care and the refusal of the command of the invading Russian forces to evacuate the seriously wounded to Russian territory, the combat fatality rate of wounded enemy troops exceeds 50%, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff reported on Oct. 15.
According to available information, a large number of wounded Russian soldiers are being admitted to medical facilities in the Russian-occupied parts of Ukraine.
About 100 wounded were admitted to one hospital in Donetsk this week, according to reports.
In the city of Tokmak in the Russian-occupied part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhya Oblast, the hospitals are overcrowded, according to information from local residents. Civilian admissions are not accepted in these hospitals due to the heavy workload of doctors and lack of beds.
Ukraine’s combat fatality rate is unknown.
According to recent studies, the combat fatality rate of U.S. forces in recent conflicts has been around 12%. In the Second World War, the rate was around 55%.
