Moscow's Lefortovo district court arrested in absentia on April 21 the chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Kirill Budanov, accusing him of "organising terror attacks," the court published order on its website.

The HUR rejected Russia's accusation, calling it "pure rubbish."

Budanov was charged under several articles of the Russian Criminal Code, including "forming a terrorist group," "terror attack," and "illegal actions with explosives or explosive devices," Russia’s independent outlet Mediabaza reported.

The court didn’t specify which "terror act" it is referring to. However, the Russian Security Service accused him of "organising the Crimean B ridge explosion" on Oct. 8, 2022. Russia built the bridge illegally after occupying the peninsula.

Budanov has promised that the Crimean Bridge (also known as the Kerch Strait Bridge) will be destroyed after the liberation of Crimea.
