Most of the Russian army command has left the occupied city of Kherson, Deputy Head of Kherson Regional Council Yurii Sobolevskyi said on Ukrainian national television on Aug. 14.

He said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had destroyed all the invaders’ logistics chains in the area.

“Indeed, today (the Russian) orcs don’t have any logistical route that is safe and that would satisfy their military needs precisely in terms of providing for the military group located near Kherson,” Sobolevskyi said.

“Obviously, this was the main reason why the military command really left Kherson. Most of them have already left Kherson, there are also reports about this.”

The Ukrainian military launched a fresh strike on the Antonivsky Bridge in Russian-occupied Kherson Oblast overnight on Aug. 14.

Kherson Regional Council deputy Sergey Khlan said the Kakhovka bridge in Kherson Oblast, which had been knocked out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, was the last route to transport Russian forces over the Dnipro River. Now the Russian army is unable to send weapons and equipment across the river in sufficient quantities.

In turn, Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov announced that Russian puppet “authorities” were fleeing to occupied Melitopol in Zaporizhzhya Oblast following the destruction of all three key bridges across the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast.
