The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is attempting to locate MP Andriy Derkach on suspicion of high treason and illicit enrichment, the press service of the agency reported on Sept. 16.

"Derkach Andriy Leonidovich, born on 19.08.1967, is suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 111, Art. 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the statement reads.

In June, the Security Service of Ukraine said it had exposed an agent net-work of the Russian intelligence service GRU, which included Ukrainian lawmaker Andriy Derkach.

According to the investigation, Derkach "oversaw the creation of a number of private security companies to use them to quickly seize Ukraine."

In August 2021, the National Security and Defense Council imposed sanctions against MP Derkach.

The United States imposed sanctions against Derkach back in September 2020. According to Washington, he maintains close ties with Russian intelligence and has been an active Russian agent for more than a decade.
