NABU raids Financial Monitoring Service offices

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU)
searched the offices of the State Financial Monitoring Service on June 10,
Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing sources inside the agency.
Insiders said the criminal case and court-authorized searches concern suspected embezzlement of state funds allocated to build battlefield fortifications in Poltava Oblast.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak, deputy chair of the parliamentary Finance Committee, said the searches are linked to an investigation he published on his YouTube channel.
The State Financial Monitoring Service is headed by Filip Pronin, who served as head of the Poltava regional administration from October 2023 to December 2024.
Anticorruption probes into the construction of defensive structures have been under way for months. In November 2025, NABU Director Semen Kryvonos confirmed the agency was pursuing several criminal cases into possible abuses and embezzlement of budget funds ordered by Poltava officials.
Those involved are suspected of embezzling as much as UAH200 million ($4.44 million) during the construction of defensive lines, investigators say.
Zheleznyak said a temporary parliamentary investigative
commission found that local authorities pressured private companies to send
workers to build fortifications without pay, using promises of draft exemptions
as leverage and incentive.
