NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Sept. 8 called on the Western allies to step up and sustain their support for Ukraine.

“NATO’s message at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group is that we need to step up and sustain support for as long as it takes,” he tweeted after the meeting at the U.S. Ramstein Air Force base in Germany.

“Thank you U.S. Defense Secretary (Lloyd Austin) for hosting us in Ramstein, and for strong U.S. leadership.”

At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov posted on Twitter a photo from his meeting with Stoltenberg, saying that “NATO plans to organize a training based on NSPA standards for the Ukrainian Defense Procurement Agency.”

The fifth multilateral meeting is taking place at the U.S. Ramstein Air Force base in Germany on Sept. 8. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has already announced the United States will provide Ukraine with another $675 million in military aid.
