NATO will support Ukraine as long as necessary, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg declared at a press conference in Brussels on Nov. 25, Reuters reports.

"NATO will continue to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes. We will not back down," he said.

According to the NATO chief, "many wars end through negotiations, but what happens at the negotiating table depends on what happens on the battlefield."

Stoltenberg added that if there is a Russian victory in Ukraine "there will be no lasting peace."

He also noted that Finland and Sweden should be considered "full" members of the alliance.

On Nov. 21, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution designating Russia a terrorist state and calling for the creation of a Special International Tribunal to investigate possible war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine.
