Nearly 40,000 new COVID-19 cases over the past day: Ukraine sets another coronavirus record

Over the past day, 39,620 Ukrainians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a total of 210 deaths were recorded, and 9,380 patients recovered from the disease, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health as of the morning of Feb. 3.

This signals a new daily record for the number of reported COVID-19 cases in Ukraine. The previous highest day was recorded on Jan. 29, when 37,351 Ukrainians were diagnosed with COVID-19.

Over the entire duration of the pandemic, a total of 4,169,897 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ukraine, of whom 3,650,854 have recovered, and 100,809 have died.

No data is available for the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the non-government-controlled parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and Sevastopol.

An adaptive quarantine is in effect in the country until the end of March 2022, dividing Ukraine into colored zones that represent the impact of the coronavirus on the region.

Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne Oblasts are in the red zone, while all other regions are currently in the yellow or orange zones.

Over 30 million coronavirus vaccination doses have been administered, and nearly 14 million people have received two doses, with more than 400,000 people having had a booster dose.
