A new mass grave of Wagner mercenaries has been found in a cemetery in Novosibirsk, Russia, local outlet Tayga.info reported on April 25.
One of the cemetery's sections contains graves with identical crosses bearing the names of men with death dates that are mostly in late 2022 and early 2023. Most have wreaths associated with the Wagner PMC. Several graves have only wreaths in the colors of the Russian flag.
There could be over 200 graves, according to estimates. Many of the names on the crosses that were verified had not previously been mentioned in official reports of war deaths.
In April, two graves of Russians killed in Russia’s war against Ukraine were discovered near Irkutsk.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces reported that they had eliminated about 690 Russian troops on April 24. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost around 187,770 soldiers, according to the count by the Ukrainian military.
