New rebellion in Russia may be under way, according to Ukrainian intelligence
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (HUR) has collected information about the possible preparation of a new rebellion in Russia, agency representative, Andriy Yusov, said on national television on July 21.
"Yes. We have such data," he said, answering the relevant question.
Yusov didn't say who exactly could be preparing this rebellion as this data is classified, and the Russian security services could benefit from its disclosure.
The chief of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin still has political potential in Russia, according to Yusov, and the Prigozhin-Shoygu conflict hasn't run its course yet.
"There are some processes, and not only Ukraine knows about them, but Western security officials and analysts do as well. The Putin regime really has been cracking," Yusov said.
Prigozhin announced the start of an armed conflict with the Russian Ministry of Defense on June 23, stating that 25,000 of his mercenaries would “restore justice.”
However, after his column reached Moscow Oblast, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko’s press service announced that Lukashenko had held talks with Prigozhin. Prigozhin then called off the march on Moscow and turned his columns around.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on June 26 offered three options to Wagner PMC militants who participated in the attempted mutiny, including an offer to go to Belarus.
Budanov commented on Prigozhin's failed mutiny and his decision to "turn the columns" from outside Moscow, suggesting that Prigozhin was eventually convinced after appealing to his "patriotism" as Belarusian savage Alexander Lukashenko and others were able to convey to him that his actions would tear Russia apart.
