Nikopol, in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, came under heavy artillery fire twice from Russian invasion forces in the early hours of March 2, the head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, said on Telegram.
The Russian military targeted two communities in the oblast, Nikopol and Chervonohryhorivska.
The boiler room of a kindergarten, several stores, and a pharmacy were damaged in the attack.
Enemy shells hit eight high-rise buildings, five garages, and three cars. Power lines were cut, and the water supply system was damaged. No injuries from the attack were reported, however.
Russian troops systematically target settlements in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with Nikopol – which lies across the Dnipro River from the Russian-occupied part of Zaporizhzhya Oblast – taking the brunt of the attacks.
Russian troops last shelled Nikopol on Feb. 28.
