Nine Iranian-made Shahed attack drones were downed near Kyiv in the early hours of Feb. 27, the Kyiv military administration reported on Telegram.

"The drone attack was actually conducted in two waves that lasted as long as possible,” the head of Kyiv's military administration, Serhiy Popko, reported.

“Thus, the enemy was trying to implement its tactic of depleting our air defense capacity. That's why the last air-raid in Kyiv lasted for five and half hours.”

There were no victims or damage to energy infrastructure reported.

Explosions were heard in Kyiv itself, as well as Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts – likely air defense.

A number of drones struck the city of Khmelnytskyi, with three explosions reported in the city. One person was killed and another four were injured as a result. Several buildings were also damaged in the city.

Ukraine's General Staff reported that the Russian troops launched 14 Iranian-made Shahed drones in the attack, with 11 of them intercepted by Ukrainian defenders.
