Norway to transfer Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine by late March

Norway expects to hand over Leopard-2 main battle tanks to Ukraine in late March, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said on Jan. 30, as reported by French public broadcaster France24.

Norway uses 36 Leopard-2 tanks at its disposal. The minister did not specify how many of those Ukraine could be getting.

“We are yet to determine the number (of tanks to be transferred),” said Gram.

On Jan. 25, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announcedBerlin will deliver German-made Leopard tanks to Ukraine and grant third countries permission to do the same.
