Residents of occupied Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast, are jubilant at every Russian ammunition depot exploding, city Mayor Volodymyr Kovalenko said in an interview with Ukrainian news outlet Glavkom on July 21.

“After talking to people, living near (Russian ammo dumps), I’ve found they are not resentful at all,” said Kovalenko.

“Quite to the contrary – they greet every Russian army warehouse blowing up with glee.”

According to the mayor, most people in Nova Kakhovka are eagerly awaiting liberation by Ukrainian forces.
