Number of new COVID-19 cases per day over 10,000 for first time in a month

Over the past day, 10,046 Ukrainians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a total of 191 deaths were recorded, and 7,202 patients recovered from the disease, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health for Jan. 13.

This represents a big increase in COVID-19 cases over the previous day – when 7,117 new cases were recorded. The daily number of new cases has not exceeded 10,000 since Dec. 12.

In total, for the entire duration of the pandemic in Ukraine, 3,727,034 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19, of whom 3,537,826 have recovered, and 97,928 have died.

No data is available for the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and Sevastopol.

An adaptive quarantine is in effect in the country until the end of March 2022, dividing Ukraine into colored zones that represent the coronavirus’ impact on the region. Presently, all Ukrainian regions are in the yellow zone.

Over 29 million coronavirus vaccination doses have been administered, and nearly 14 million people have received two doses.
