On the morning of Wednesday, May 4, a large-scale fire broke out at an oil depot in the occupied city of Makiyivka in Donetsk Oblast, according to reports on social media, which also mention a powerful explosion beforehand.
It appears that the oil depot near Novorobochyi settlement is ablaze.
Thick clouds of black smoke can be seen rising above the city.
Other reports suggest that four large-capacity tanks of 5,000 tons each caught fire at the oil depot.
The militants of the so-called “people’s republic of Donetsk” stated that the fire was caused by shelling on the part of the Ukrainian army, but the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is yet to comment on the matter.
