One dead and several wounded after Russian attack in Zaporizhzhya Oblast – OVA

As a result of the Russian shelling of Orihiv, Zaporizhzhya Oblast on Jan. 1, one person died and three more civilians were injured, Oleksandr Starukh, head of Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration (OVA), reported on Telegram on Jan. 1.
“New Year’s greetings from the Russians arrived in Orihiv at noon. As a result, one person died, and three were injured,” he wrote.
Starukh expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Russian troops are systematically shelling the front-line town of Orihiv, firing hundreds of shells at the settlement.


Russia launched another large-scale missile attack on Ukraine on Dec. 31. During the Russian attack, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 12 of over 20 Russian cruise missiles.
Besides Kyiv, the Russians struck Khmelnytskyy Oblast (part of the city was cut off from power, seven injured), Zaporizhzhia (four injured, including a pregnant woman and a child) and Mykolaiv (six injured).
