Over 1,400 Russian officers killed in Ukraine so far, Kyiv says

At least 1,402 Russian military officers of different ranks – including 12 generals – have been killed in the war in Ukraine, the Center for Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Nov. 2.
“According to OSINT (open-source intelligence) researchers, 1,402 Russian officers were ‘de-Nazified’ in Ukraine – that's a rate of 5.7 per day,” the Telegram message said.
“Notably, senior officers make up 26% of total losses.”
The message provided the following breakdown of Russian officer corps losses, by rank:
· 12 generals (one army general, one colonel general, two lieutenant generals, eight major generals);
· 44 colonels;
· 98 lieutenant colonels;
· 193 majors;
· 279 captains;
· 471 senior lieutenants;
· 235 lieutenants;
· 72 officers of other ranks.
Official figures, provided by Ukraine’s General Staff, suggest a total of 73,270 Russian troops were KIA in the war, since Feb. 24.
