Over 11,000 Russian soldiers killed since start of Russian invasion of Ukraine, says Ukraine’s Defense Ministry
Over 11,000 Russian invaders have been killed since the beginning of the Russian full-scale war against Ukraine, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry wrote on Facebook on March 6.
The ministry added that more than 2,000 pieces of enemy military equipment had been destroyed since Feb. 24.
“Information is to be clarified. It is difficult to collect data due to the high intensity of hostilities,” reads the report.
As of Sunday morning, March 6, estimated combat losses of the enemy are the following:
- personnel ‒ more than 11 000,
- tanks ‒ 285,
- armored combat vehicles ‒ 985,
- artillery systems –109,
- MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) ‒ 50,
- AAD (Army Air Defence) ‒ 21,
- aircraft ‒ 44,
- helicopters – 48,
- vehicles ‒ 447,
- light speedboats ‒ 2,
- cisterns with fuel and lubricants ‒ 60,
- UAVs, operational-tactical level ‒ 4.
March 6 marks the 11th day of a full-scale war with Russia.
Ordinary Ukrainians and the Ukrainian military continue to defend themselves, the shelling of Ukrainian cities does not stop.
At the same time, international support is growing – Western countries are increasingly strengthening sanctions against Russia.
Recently, the invading Russian troops have disrupted the evacuation of the population from the port city of Mariupol. The international humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders assesses the humanitarian situation there as “catastrophic.”
