Over 19,000 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Ukraine, another 161 dead

Over the past day, 19,118 Ukrainians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a total of 161 deaths were recorded, and 5,863 patients recovered from the disease, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health for Jan. 25.

The daily rate of infection usually increases after declining over the weekend. In keeping with that trend, a day earlier, 12,915 Ukrainians were diagnosed with COVID-19.

In total, for the entire duration of the pandemic in Ukraine, 3,889,488 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19, of which 3,591,201 have recovered, and 99,443 have died.

No data is available for the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the non-government-controlled parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and Sevastopol.

An adaptive quarantine is in effect in the country until the end of March 2022, dividing Ukraine into colored zones that represent the coronavirus’ impact on the region.

Since Jan. 24, the Ivano-Frankivsk region has been in the red zone, while all other regions are currently in the yellow or orange zones.

Over 29 million coronavirus vaccination doses have been administered, with nearly 14 million people having received two doses and more than 200,000 people having had a booster dose.
