Over 7,000 daily COVID-19 cases recorded in Ukraine, nearly 100,000 dead
Over the past day, 7,177 Ukrainians were diagnosed with COVID-19, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health for Jan. 7.
A total of 192 deaths were recorded, while 5,595 patients recovered from the disease. The country administered a total of 75,596 tests for the virus.
Another 1,866 patients were hospitalized for treatment for the disease.
A total of 6,632 people were diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus on Jan. 6.

In total, for the entire duration of the pandemic in Ukraine, 3,696,468 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19, of whom 3,506,509 have recovered and 97,088 have died.
An adaptive quarantine is in effect in the country until the end of March 2022, dividing Ukraine into colored zones that represent the coronavirus’ impact on the region. Presently, all Ukrainian regions are yellow zones.
Over 28.7 million coronavirus vaccination doses have been administered, and nearly 14 million people have received two doses.
On Jan. 6, the Ministry of Health announced that all double-vaccinated adults who had received their last vaccination at least six months ago would now be eligible for a vaccination booster shot.
