Over 85 Ukrainian soldiers released from Russian captivity coming home, says Ukraine's reintegration minister (PHOTOS)

Eighty-six Ukrainian soldiers who were released from Russian captivity on April 1 are on their way home now, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk reported via Telegram messenger on April 2, as part of a new prisoner swap with Russian held on April 1.

The group includes 15 servicewomen as well.

"We are taking ours (soldiers) after the prisoner swap,” Vereshchuk wrote, adding several photos of the released soldiers.

“They will be at home with relatives soon.”

The first prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia was held on March 24 in the "10 for 10" format.

Later, 11 Russian civilian sailors, rescued by Ukraine from a vessel flooded near the city of Odesa, were exchanged for 19 Ukrainian civilian sailors from the Sapphire rescue ship, captured by the Russian invaders during their assault on the Ukrainian border checkpoint on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island.
