The United States didn’t find any evidence that U.S.-supplied weapons that were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine ended up outside of Ukraine, CNN reported on Feb. 28, citing Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security, Celeste Wallander.
“We see Ukraine's frontline units effectively employing security assistance every day on the battlefield,” Wallander told the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense.
She added that the United States has adapted its accountability practices to combat conditions in order to avoid risks of weapons diversion or smuggling.
Another senior Pentagon official, Lt. Gen. Douglas Sims II, said that there were no reports of missing weapons from Ukraine, and it wasn’t in the interests of Ukrainians to get rid of them.
