Washington may suspend arms supplies to Ukraine, but this will only happen if the Senate does not approve the bill to help Kyiv, U.S. Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby said during a briefing at the Pentagon on May 13.

The U.S. Senate must approve another $40 billion in military aid from the United States quickly to avoid interruption in supplies, according to Kirby.

"If we do not get those authorities soon, it is possible that there could be a bubble, a period of time with nothing moving. And we want to make sure we avoid it," Kirby said.
