As the Armed Forces of Ukraine are training in the UK to conduct urban battles, Ukraine’s General Staff published a series of photos from the facilities, in a Facebook post on Feb. 6.
The General Staff said that as part of basic combined arms training for combat operations in urban terrain, the Ukrainian troops are studying the procedure for approaching and infiltrating a building.
The report states that as part of Operation UNIFIER – UK, the training is being led by instructors from the 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, 1st Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, and 3rd Canadian Division of Canadian Armed Forces.
The UK plans to use its facilities to train another 20,000 Ukrainian troops this year, preparing them to face invading Russian forces.
The United States has also expanded its training program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is conducted at military bases in Germany.
The EU has also launched the EUMAM training mission for Ukrainian troops, which will train 15,000 military personnel. Most of the exercises will take place in Poland.
