PMC Wagner recruits mercenaries in Belgorod Oblast near Ukraine, says General Staff

Russian mercenary company Wagner Group has started recruiting employees of enterprises in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, which borders Ukraine near Kharkiv, reads the morning update of Ukrainian military’s General Staff on Nov. 18.

Under agreements Wagner has made with management of Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant (OEMK), workers of conscription age will undergo military training on full pay with the mercenary company for a period of 30 days.

About 25% of the company’s workers are to undergo military training at a time.

Upon completion of their training, the plant’s staff will be offered a contract with the Russian mercenary company.

Ukrainian intelligence reported earlier that Wagner is managed by commissioned Russian Special Forces officers.
