Poland announces new military aid package for Ukraine

Poland has announced another military aid package to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, according to a joint statement of several NATO member states of Jan. 19.

“Poland will continue to provide military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine as long as necessary,” the statement says.

“The new Polish package consists of S-60 anti-aircraft guns with 70,000 rounds of ammunition. Poland has already donated 42 Infantry Fighting Vehicles along with training package for two mechanized battalions. In addition, Poland continues delivery of 155mm KRAB howitzers and supplying Ukraine with various types of ammunition.”

According to the statement, Poland will also constantly provide Ukraine with medical and engineering training.

“On the top of it, Poland is ready to donate a company of Leopard 2 tanks with 1,000 rounds of ammunition, pending a wider coalition of Leopard 2 tanks donors being established,” reads the report.
