In addition to more MiG-29 fighter jets, Poland will transfer Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Piorun anti-aircraft missile systems, and Rak self-propelled mortars to Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a joint briefing with Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki in Warsaw on April 5.
Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and Poland agreed on a new security assistance package, adding that it involves cooperation between the militaries of the two countries – as opposed to simply one-way military aid.
"Today we are signing a document on the supply of Polish Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Rak self-propelled mortars, air defense systems, in particular the very effective Piorun, ... MiG (fighter jets), and other weapons," Zelenskyy said.
Polish news outlet TVP Info reported that Zelenskyy and Morawiecki signed agreements on the supply of Polish military equipment to Ukraine, cooperation between strategic defense enterprises, and Poland's participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
On April 5, Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Warsaw at the invitation of Polish President Andrzej Duda. This was Zelenskyy’s third trip abroad since Russia’s invasion, and the first official visit he made together with First Lady Olena Zelenska.
