Polish President Andrzej Duda chaired a meeting of Poland’s National Security Council to discuss supplying German-made Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine, Duda’s Chief-of-Staff Pawel Szrot told The Guardian on Jan. 9.

Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki and various cabinet ministers also attended the meeting.

“On the agenda is Ukraine’s request for delivery of western-made heavy battle tanks –including German-made Leopard-2 tanks,” Szrot said.

The official reiterated that Warsaw would consider transferring German tanks to Ukraine only if such deliveries were supported by a wider coalition of allies.
