Mariupol has been completely blocked and under continuous shelling by Russian troops for more than 10 days. Russian invaders have already destroyed a children's hospital, a maternity ward, and a technical university.

The occupiers also refuse to organize a humanitarian corridor for the delivery of foodstuffs and the evacuation of the civilian population.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov called the situation in Mariupol "an act of genocide."
