Explosions in a number of Russian cities and the launch of mysterious drones across Russian territory on Feb. 28 have nothing to do with Ukraine, adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mykhailo Podolyak said on Twitter.
He said that Ukraine is not striking at Russian territory, but is waging a defensive war to liberate all its lands.
"Ukraine doesn't strike at Russian territory," he said.
“Ukraine is waging a defensive war to de-occupy all its territories. This is axiomatic.”
The adviser also called the launch of drones "internal attacks" that are manifestations of the process of "panic and disintegration" in Russia.
"Panic and disintegration processes are building up in Russia, reflected by an increase in internal attacks on infrastructure facilities by unidentified flying objects," Podolyak said.
On Feb. 28, there were a series of mysterious explosions and other incidents involving unknown drones in various regions across Russia.
On the night of Feb. 28, the authorities in Belgorod, Russia, reported the downing of three drones.
Later, an oil terminal was attacked by "two unidentified aerial vehicles" in the Russian city of Tuapse. A large-scale fire broke out as a result of the explosion.
St. Petersburg declared a “Kovyor” alert because of an unknown object in the airspace above the city. The Russian Defense Ministry later said the alert had been a "training exercise."
And in Moscow Oblast south of the Russian capital, a drone crashed near a Gazprom facility.
