Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is losing favor with his inner circle of oligarchs, creating conditions for a rebellion and his overthrow, the Center for Counteracting Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has said.

The center says is has note that among Putin’s “pocket oligarchs” Yury Kovalchuk, Gennady Timchenko, and Sergey Chemezov, may still communicate with him in person.

The group of oligarchs from the Boris Yeltsin era are defiantly avoiding personal communication, and it is from their side Putin fears a “stab in the back.” Thus, Roman Abramovich, Vladimir Potanin, Oleg Deripaska, Mikhail Prokhorov, Alexander Abramov, Andrey Melnichenko have already lost and continue to lose their assets and fortune due to Western sanctions.

And if Putin does not agree to their terms, he will face forced impeachment or physical destruction from his immediate circle,” the Center for Countering Disinformation said.

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the EU has imposed sanctions against several Russian oligarchs.
