Deputy Russian Defense Minister Dmitriy Bulgakov, who was responsible for Russian military logistics, has been fired and replaced with Mikhail Mizintsev, Russian Defense Ministry said in a Telegram post on Sept. 24.
General Bulgakov served in the post since Dec. 2, 2008.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin reportedly favors Col. General Mizintsev, who commanded Russian troops in Syria.
During the war in Ukraine, Mizintsev oversaw the brutal siege of Mariupol, where he ordered his troops to indiscriminately bombard the city, including the horrific bombing of the city’s Drama Theater, where hundreds of civilians were sheltering.
