Putin survived assassination attempt after invasion of Ukraine, says Ukrainian intelligence chief

Russian President Vladimir Putin has survived an assassination attempt after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate, said in an interview with the Ukrayinska Pravda online newspaper on May 23.

"Recently Putin survived an assassination attempt by representatives of the Caucasus. This is non-public information. It was an absolutely unsuccessful, but it really took place."

According to Budanov, it happened about two months ago.
