The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, has voted in favor of a bill granting leave to military personnel during martial law, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said on Telegram on Nov. 3.
330 legislators voted in favor of the bill.
The bill raises the possibility of granting servicemembers during martial law leave with pay for a period of not more than 10 calendar days, excluding the time required for travel within Ukraine to the place of vacation and back, but not more than two days one way.
Previously, all planned vacations for servicemembers during martial law had been canceled. Some soldiers were given a few days of leave, but in general, most have been forced to stay at the front for months on end.
