Reported COVID-19 infection rate reaches 35,000 over the past day

Over the past day, 35,014 Ukrainians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, a total of 204 deaths were recorded, and 9,894 patients recovered from the disease, according to official data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health as of the morning of Feb. 2.

The daily rate of COVID-19 infection remains high amid the Omicron coronavirus variant surge in Ukraine, with Feb. 1 seeing the second highest daily reported infection rate over the entire duration of the pandemic in Ukraine.

Since the start of the pandemic, a total of 4,130,277 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ukraine, of whom 3,641,474 have recovered, and 100,599 have died.

No data is available for the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the non-government-controlled parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and Sevastopol.

An adaptive quarantine is in effect in the country until the end of March 2022, dividing Ukraine into colored zones that represent the impact of the coronavirus on the region.

Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne Oblasts are in the red zone, while all other regions are currently in the yellow or orange zones.

Over 30 million coronavirus vaccination doses have been administered, and nearly 14 million people have received two doses, with more than 300,000 people having had a booster dose.
