The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has put a Ukrainian MP from the ruling Servant of the People parliamentary faction, Margarita Shol, on its wanted list, the agency reported on Jan. 9.
Shol is suspected of entering unreliable data in her electronic income declaration, a violation of Ukrainian law, which stipulates that all public servants must submit accurate information about their earnings and assets.
“In the declaration for 2020, she omitted the information about renting an apartment in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi district worth about UAH 5 million ($136,729),” NABU said.
If Shol is found guilty, the accompanying law provides for a fine or community service, or imprisonment for up to two years without the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
