Russia is activating its troops in Transnistria to carry out provocations on the border with Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook on April 2.

"A redeployment of Russian troops and units of the so-called Transnistrian-Moldovan Republic was observed… (they are preparing) for a demonstration of readiness for an offensive and possible hostilities against Ukraine," the General Staff said.

Russian forces continue their armed aggression against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military said that the Russian invaders were withdrawing their troops from several areas, probably to reinforce them for a further offensive in the Slobozhanske, Donetsk and Luhansk areas.

In addition, Russia has also stepped up work with so-called "volunteers," the General Staff said.
