Rattled Russia air defense crews shot down one of Russia’s own Ka-52 attack helicopters on July 26 after the aircraft attempted to attack Ukrainian positions in Kherson Oblast, Ukraine’s General Staff has reported.
Three Russian Ka-52 helicopters – one of Russia’s most modern military aircraft – planned to attack Ukrainian units. But the occupiers’ helicopters came under “friendly fire” by frightened Russian air defense units, Ukraine’s General Staff said.
“Russian air defense has never been notable for its accuracy, so the invaders shot down only one out of three of their Ka-52 attack helicopters,” the General Staff said.
“That's a pity," the message says.
