The Russian military attacked Poltava Oblast with Iskander cruise and ballistic missiles as well as Iranian-made Shahed suicide drones overnight on June 10, but no casualties have been reported so far, the region’s governor, Dmytro Lunin, has said on Telegram.
However, infrastructure and equipment at a military airfield near Myrhorod was damaged, he said.
"The fire has been partially localized,” Lunin’s post on the social medium reads.
“Measures are being taken to eliminate the consequences of the shelling and transport equipment to safe locations.”
Eight houses and four cars were also damaged in the oblast by the falling debris,” Lunin said.
Air raid sirens sounded throughout Ukraine overnight on June 10. Ukraine air defence shot down eight suicide drones and two of three missiles launched on Odesa Oblast. However, three people were killed and another26 injured, including two children and a pregnant woman, due to falling debris from shot-down drones.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast was also under attack overnight. Two suicide drones were intercepted, but there was no significant damage from failing debris.
An air raid alert sounded in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv overnight, but it turned out to be a false alarm generated by Russian electronic warfare generating false ballistic missile launch signals, Ukrainian air raid monitoring channels said.
