The Russian military is constructing a pontoon crossing in Kherson Oblast that is supposed to replace the Daryivskyi Bridge, previously destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kherson Regional Councilmember Sergey Khlan wrote on Facebook on July 25.

He stressed that without such bridges, Russia will not be able to replenish its military capabilities in southern Ukraine.

“Oh, well, they are preparing a new target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine — moreover, it has already been zeroed in,” Khlan wrote.

“After all, it is the damage to the bridges that make it impossible to replenish the fighting capacity of the rashists (a portmanteau of Russian fascist - ed). Ukraine already officially controls the transport routes of the occupiers, which puts a lot of pressure on Russia."

At the same time, according to Khlan, a collaborator in southern Ukraine, Kirill Stremousov, previously stated that the destroyed bridge over the Inhulets River supposedly "did not matter."

The Kherson Oblast Military Administration reported on July 25 that the Russian occupying authorities in Kherson forced local utility workers to patch up the Antonivskyi Bridge, following strikes by the Ukrainian military.
