Russians cancelled a planned prisoner exchange at the last moment, Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said on Jan. 14 on Telegram.
"It should be noted that another exchange of prisoners with the Russian side was planned today (Jan. 14),” the headquarters stated.
“However, at the last moment, it was canceled at the initiative of the Russians. The causes behind this decision are not difficult to guess.”
On the afternoon of Jan. 14, as Ukrainians marked the holiday of the Old New Year, Russian troops launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine. During the attack, a missile struck a nine-story residential building in the city of Dnipro, killing at least 21 civilians and injuring over 70 people, including 14 children. Rescue operations are ongoing.
