Invading Russian forces have almost finished preparations to hold sham referendums in the occupied territories of Ukraine, but the dates of the faked polling may vary, Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Vadym Skibitsky said in an interview with news agency RBC-Ukraine on Aug. 26.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the invaders have already created election headquarters, operational headquarters, compiled voter lists and created election commissions in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson oblasts.
“That is, all the processes related to the preparation for the ‘referendums’ are almost completed,” Skibitsky said.
Also, according to his data, the dates of the sham voting may vary.
“For example, Sept. 11, when they have Russia’s voting day,” he said.
“Other options are also possible.”
Earlier the Russian news outlet Meduza reported that stalling Russian offensives in the Donbas were disrupting Russian plans to hold so-called “referendums” in occupied southern and eastern Ukraine.
