The Russian military launched a massive attack from the early hours of Oct. 22, firing 36 missiles at Ukraine, although most of them were shot down by air defense forces, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram.

The president attached a photo of a fire at one of the infrastructure facilities hit by the Russian missile attack.

"The photo is just one example of how the enemy is trying to break us,” he said.

“These are despicable attacks on critical facilities. This is a characteristic tactic of terrorists. The world can and must stop this terror.”

The president expressed gratitude to the air defense units, power engineers and all those who are restoring the infrastructure at the site of the attacks.

In the morning, Russia attacked infrastructure facilities in the center and west of Ukraine.

Electricity transmission system operator Ukrenergo said that the scale of damage from the strikes on energy facilities are on par with or may exceed the consequences of the attack on Oct. 10-12.
