Russia fires rockets at Mykolaiv Oblast, houses hit in Ochakiv, mother, child injured

Russia shelled Ochakiv in Mykolaiv Oblast during air-raid alarms, the head of the police, Serhiу Shaikhet reported on Telegram on Dec. 21.
The Russian invading forces shelled the town with multiple rocket launch systems and damaged two houses.
A woman, a man and a boy were injured in Ochakiv, Mykolaiv Oblast Governor Viltalii Kim added.
The town is located on the Black Sea coast of the oblast, close to the mouth of the River Dnipro, and opposite the Russian-held Kinburn Spit, the western part of which is located in Mykolaiv Oblast (the eastern part being in Kherson Oblast).
Russian troops continue to fire artillery at water area of the Ochakiv community. They shelled the region seven times in the past day alone, local authorities report.
As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the United States, air raid alarms activated all across Ukraine when air defense systems detected Russian fighter aircraft taking off.
