Russia’s military command is continuing to deploy so-called “volunteers” to fight in Ukraine, the Ukrainian General Staff said in a message on April 13.

According to the message, a 400-man-strong battalion was recently formed in Russia’s Leningrad region out of people with prior combat experience.

The unit was then deployed to Ukraine, bolstering Russia’s 42nd Mechanized Infantry Division and 58th Field Army.
