Russian forces attacked two civilian tugboats in a port near Mykolayiv, killing two and injuring one person, with another crewman missing, Ukraine’s Operational Command South said in a Facebook post on Oct. 31. The tugboats were navigating a barge with agricultural produce.

“As a result of a strike on two civil tugboats involved in the transportation of a barge with grain, a fire broke out and control of the ships was lost,” the message said.

“Two crew members were killed; one was injured, and the fate of another is unknown.”

According to the report, Russia maintains eight warships deployed in the Black Sea, including two cruise missile launch platforms.

The message also said that last week, Ukrainian forces destroyed two barges near the Antonivka Road Bridge, Kherson Oblast, which were used to evacuate Russian military vehicles and personnel from the right bank of Dnipro River in the region.
